Functional Strength Rugby
Term 4 2013 kicks off Functional Strength Rugby
Preseason conditioning for Rugby players. Coached and Programmed by Richie Patterson
Work up to a heavy 3 reps within 15mins
24 minutes — alternate each movement EMOM
First minute — Push Press x 5 reps @ 75% BWT (or more)
Second minute — Walking barbell front rack lunges x 10 steps 75% BWT (or more)
Third minute — Deadball to shoulder x 3 reps @ 55/35kg
Choose weights that will be a challenge…these should not be easy sets…especially in the 2nd half of the workout.
Use a Fatbar for walking lunges if your game.
